Drying Roses

By Jan Nicholas There are many reasons why you might want to dry your roses. Some people just want to keep a memento of a special moment. Perhaps they are a part of a wedding that you went to; maybe they were a gift from a mate, friend, or family member. Whatever your reasons for doing it, this is the section where you will learn to dry your roses properly. There two ways drying rose petal can happen and that are cheap and relatively easy. Air Drying Air drying is by far the easiest and cheapest method of drying flowers including roses. It is simple; all you have to do is follow these simple instructions. Start with perfect and unflawed roses on their stems. If the roses are not in perfect condition, they will wither and the petals will fall off. Remove any leaves that may be on the branches. Bunch them up together in a manner that lets them fan out. Tie the bottom with string or a rubber band. Hang them upside down in a dark, dry place for two to three weeks to be certain that they are completely dry. Sand Drying Start by picking the roses that are in perfect condition. They shouldnt have any dew on them and the stems should be dry as well. You can reinforce the stems and blossom with either white glue or florist wire. For florist wire, you will want to cut off most of the stem. Leave about one inch of stem. Push about 3 inches of wire through the stem and right through the flower head. Next, you want to bend the end of the wire into a hook over each rose head and pull it down. This helps to keep the head secured to the stem. When choosing to use the glue, begin by diluting the glue in a dab of water. You will take a toothpick and dab a thin coat of the glue mixture at the base of each petal. Next, you will work the glue into the base of the stems of each flower so that you can attach each petal to the base, wait till the glue dries completely Now for the sand, slowly and carefully cover the flowers with sand in deep open boxes. Make the sand in the box deep enough to hold the flowers upright. Sit each flower in the sand filled box and slowly pour sand around the base, around the sides, and over and under the petals. You should pour the sand evenly so that you can preserve the flowers natural shape. You will want to wait for the flowers to dry while facing upright. Put the boxes with the roses in a dry space that is warm and brightly lit. This will ensure that your roses will maintain their bright color. Let them dry for one to three weeks. If you want more muted colors, you will want to dry them in a more humid area. To remove the sand, tip the drying container slightly so that the sand can fall off the flowers. Remove each flower one by one. Now you have successfully learned how to dry your roses so that they are ready for you to do whatever youd like with them. These dried flowers will make great decorations for any room in your house or office, or whatever else youd like to do. Three Great Things About Fiji Women

By Pauline Go Fiji women are among the most interesting women of the Asian world. They are unique in every way. While life is quite good for women in most areas of Fiji, there are still many who long to get out and see the rest of the world. Most of them know that the only way they can possibly get these opportunities is by marrying someone from the Western world. With men looking for Asian brides every day, there is a great chance for all women who want to escape from their home country. Take a look at these reasons men love Fiji women. Theyre Cultural The best thing about Fiji women is that they are very cultural. They often know a lot about pottery and other crafts and arts. They are quite talented in these areas. In fact, they usually sell their items to tourists when they stay in Fiji and often times that is how they make their sole income. So, if you want a woman from Fiji, you will be getting not only a dedicated wife but also a talented partner in life. Theyre Hard Workers In addition, men love women from Fiji because they are great workers. They spend most of their lives working outside of the home. They often work in fisheries and do some farming. So, farmers or other agricultural men often look to Fiji for brides that can help them with their current family business. They Are Lovely In addition to being talented and dedicated to their work, women from Fiji are also beautiful. They have that Pacific look to them that is like no other. Men love their ethnic look and find their natural beauty appealing. Karuna Reiki

By Eric Hartwell The word Karuna is a Sanskrit word that means Compassion. Reiki as an art for healing is used to take away suffering and illness of others and is thus said to be the Path of Karuna and thus also the Path of Compassion. Reiki is a spiritual path that is without denomination of race, religion, caste or creed and acknowledges all beings as equals without any distinctions and therefore it is a path that welcomes each one of us with Love and Compassion. It extends the need to share the wounds and heal these wounds and remove the sorrow of each and every one alike and do unto others just as you would unto yourself. When compassion comes together with prayer and wisdom it is a very powerful tool to bring about healing and this is the teaching of the Buddha. Karuna is the life force behind all the beings on this Earth who work with higher spiritual beings and the path of the Light Workers who continue to send unending healing Reiki energy into the world in order to end the suffering and strife in this world. Developing Karuna or Compassion within yourself opens you up to this positive energy sent by the enlightened beings but also speeds up healing and helps the individual to become yet more compassionate and loving. This is the power of Karuna and this is the energy that is channeled and directed by Karuna Reiki that is said to not only flow from you but heals both the practitioner and the patient by encompassing both the giver and receiver of Karuna. This new branch of Reiki was started by William Lee Rand in around 1989 who received certain non-Usui Reiki symbols and some attunement techniques by his Reiki guides and he was guided to develop this system of Reiki called Karuna Reiki fully by 1995. He developed the attunement processes and worked with other Reiki practitioners worldwide to develop some of the symbols that are used for Karuna Reiki and have since been adopted by other systems of Reiki too. There are 8 additional symbols in Karuna Reiki which are used for intense healing work. It is imperative that Karuna Reiki is only offered to Usui Reiki Masters as William claims that it is not a substitute for Usui Reiki but is an additional technique that is a step up from it. However it is important to note that Karuna Reiki is not to be confused with a similar sounding system called the Karuna Ki Reiki, this system is a more advanced system that is only available to Usui Masters and is developed Vincent Amador. It is very similar to Karuna Reiki in terms of using the same symbols of Karuna Reiki and its offshoot Tera Mai Reiki started by Kathleen it also uses some additional unique symbols, mudras and meditations and different attunement processes. Karuna Reiki is a rewarding form of Reiki that brings balance, peace and harmony to all who have compassion in their hearts and embodies a more wholesome form of healing to Reiki. Healthy and Successful Ways to Fight in Relationships

By John Seeley Men and women often speak different languages. Men are pretty straight forward, but women do have a different way of communicating. There is a lot involved in deciphering the man/woman-speak involved in relationships, but during an argument, it’s especially important for us to understand as much as possible. Fighting is never pleasant especially with your significant other. So its best if you have a plan before you have a problem. To begin with have an idea of what triggers arguments between you. If for example they occur often when you drink, then it might be best to discuss things when you arent drinking. Then its important to understand what your partner wants based on what he/she is saying. The biggest problem between men and women is communication. And the biggest problem with communication is not listening or hearing what the other person is saying. First there is how to listen. There are 3 ways to listen. One is I agree with what youre saying, Im right. Second is I disagree with you, Im right. Or finally I dont know and Im open to what youre saying. The third way is obviously the balanced way, and helps to prevent arguments. Another thing to know is what a woman means when she says things. The only way to know is to ask, from a balanced position, which may be hard to do. The key is, are you willing to give up the need to win or be right? If you can do that you can look at the other persons side of it, and more importantly, you can see whats valid, and whats not. If we can approach the dispute balanced, we will offer a safe place to find out whats really bothering the people in our life. Another way toward better communication is to check if what is being said is being heard. This is done with both parties asking for what they said to be repeated back by the other person. If the other person doesnt get it, then repeat your statements, perhaps with different words to clarify your point. Again ask for a replay by your partner, until they received what you said. Try it both ways, with you repeating what they said. For example, If I heard you right, you want so and so Try it and see how much more is actually understood, and communicated. Understanding that we are human, that we have emotions, and that we can only control our own, will be the best we can do. If we try to understand the other persons point of view and really listen to them, thats often all thats required. New Beginnings - High School Graduation Special

By Emily Rose Spring is the time when flowers bloom after a long cold winter and grass returns to its green lush hue. New creations come to be. The sky is blue. Birds sweetly sing. Newness is all around. For high school seniors spring means the end of a long hard road culminating in glorious pomp and circumstance. For them, spring is a time to reflect on years of homework, tests, and finals. It is a time to reflect on dances, crushes, and breakups. Days have been crossed off for months leading to this ultimate moment when graduation draws near. For them, a new beginning is now unfolding. Graduation is the conclusion of one chapter and the opening of a brand new phase in a seniors life. The journey ahead may seem scary, exciting, joyous, challenging, fun, and daunting at the same time. They are thrust into adulthood with a diploma and hopes and dreams in their hands. This may mean moving far away from home or sticking close by. Whatever lies ahead is unfamiliar territory never entered into. A graduate stands at the door of great opportunity because of the accomplishment they have made. They enter into a fraternity or sorority of sorts of those who have gone before as graduates. Tassels, robes, and diplomas symbolize their saying goodbye to high school and greeting the world ahead with pride in themselves and their achievement. With such incredible feelings and important meaning tied to graduation it is very important to pay tribute to the graduates special day. The memories of graduation will last a lifetime and will remain emblazoned on their minds forever. Invite friends and family members to share in the joy and celebration of the event. Make sure to set time apart to tell the graduate how proud that he or she has made you for reaching his or her goals. It would be a great time to impart wisdom and experiences that will help them in the future as they head to college or enter the work force. Heartwarming gifts that capture the day will help them remember this special time in their lives. Give them a pendant with their initials on one side and Class of 2006 on the other or a clock to signify the time spent struggling with perseverance. Whatever they receive will stand out as they make their way into the future; into this new beginning. How to Make Changes in Your Healthcare Organization

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Donald_Bryant] Donald Bryant For many of us change is a difficult process. In organizations like healthcare it seems to advance at a snails pace sometimes. There is a need for change in healthcare, most agree, though we would be hard pressed to agree upon the changes needed. One incentive for change is pay-for-performance programs now beginning in several areas. I would like to describe a couple that affect primary care physicians and then give a few suggestions as to how to adopt changes to take advantage of these programs. Even if you are not in a primary care physician program, the methods suggested for change will be helpful, I believe. In 2006 Medicare plans to institute a pay-for-performance program at the primary care physician level. Right now a model is being tested and seems to be doing quite well. In several states Blue Cross Blue Shield organizations are testing pay-for- performance programs. Here in West Michigan, Priority Health, a healthcare insurer, has promoted such a program for over five years. How does this work, you may ask? Priority Health, for example, funds the program for each of its patients a set amount. Doctors who meet a requirement of the program for a patient are rewarded with extra money for that patient. Hence, with many patients the income for the practice can be boosted considerably. The fact is that many are not rising to the opportunity. With planned cuts in Medicare reimbursements over the next few years, this source of income cannot be ignored! Healthcare programs need to change, no matter how difficult. The impetus for change should rest with the leadership of an organization, although the change should not be the sole responsibility of the leaders. Representatives from all parts of the organization should be involved. Once the need for change in a process is agreed upon, either because of extra revenue from pay-for-performance programs or other agents or data that positively affect the bottom line, leaders should convene a task force to plan the change. With input from all, leaders should map the process as it currently exits and then should make a new map of how they would like it to be to incorporate the positive changes. The new procedure should be standardized for all to adopt. How do you go about adopting these changes on a daily basis? This is probably the hardest part. Because humans learn in a variety of ways, it will take a variety of ways to implement the changes. The implementation of the changes should be based upon the learning styles of the individuals involved. Let me provide an example using the Medicare program. A patient who enters the Medicare program is entitled to a paid initial physical. A primary care physician should take advantage of this. Many dont. If I were the manager of such an office, I would remind my staff who set up appointments to be aware of this fact. I would remind them at regular staff meetings. I would post visible reminders in the office. I might even have a message flashed on the computer screen once in a while. Then I would review the appointments of patients who have become Medicare qualified and see how many had their initial physical or were booked for it. I would adjust my methods to remind staff of the need for such examinations and continue to improve on this until the office achieves 100% compliance with the goal. Booking the exam is not the only needed change. Doctors who perform the physical must accomplish examination details and actions laid out by Medicare. Hence, to be paid for the exam, each doctor must adhere to the exam details. I would help the doctors accomplish this in a variety of ways, depending on the doctors learning style. For example, a checklist of the exam details might be included in the patient history folder when the exam is performed. That way the doctor will not miss any steps. As the leader of the change, I would check with billing to see that all the steps were performed and adapt new approaches or reinforce existing ones to see that the changes are accomplished 100% of the time. Changes such as these should be a part of a continuous quality improvement program at every healthcare provider organization. Let me quickly review the most important steps. First leaders should identify the changes needed. Then, the leaders should convene a committee of all affected staff to develop how to accomplish the change. Once the staff agrees upon the approach, the leaders should develop ways to implement the change on a daily basis adopting methods that incorporate learning styles of affected individuals. Then, they should continually analyze the progress of the changes and make necessary adjustments until the goals are accomplished. They should then audit the changes occasionally to be sure that the organization doesnt fall back into old habits. I believe that adopting such a change process will dramatically help at your site. You will see savings in time, increased patient or client health and satisfaction, as well as an improved bottom line!
